CHRISTMAS PARTIES WITH BAE

When Ian and I were younger, we had a few years that, through dad's work at BAE, we were lucky to have Christmas events to enjoy. Earlier in the evening, before we left to go to the hotel, we would go to get our hair cut. Afterwards, in the hour or so leading up to leaving, we would be having fun at the home, rushing around to pack and watching a favourite program or for me I would draw.

One of the occasions, I remember, as we walked into the lobby area to check in, maybe its because we were still little, it seemed really big. The hotel was lit up and Christmas decorations were up and everybody was chatting, laughing and drinking. After we had checked in to our room, there was a pool table just opposite our room, which I remember thinking that is brilliant. Luckily, there was also a social room with a massive tv that we were able to watch a movie on.

This was good because the kids didn't eat with the adults at the event. All the parents ate their meal in the hotel's function room and any kids could watch tv or a movie on the cinema-size tv. The movie one year was The Beverly Hillbillies and it was the first we'd seen it and it was really funny and a great addition to our evening. After the parents had finished eating, dad and mum came to find us. Before we went to bed, dad and mum played a game of pool with me and then Ian, and it was a really nice little thing we did at the event. These times always makes me smile and think we have such lovely moments to look back on.  St Anne's has always been a favourite place for us, because of the events we went to with dad's work and trips with mum, and that's the reason we always look forward to go there :)
